Question Type Font Type
From EpiHandy
The font type question type allows for defining font types different for different translations/languages.
For example if you have an English and an Amharic (Ethiopian) translation you will need to define different fonts inorder to properly display the Amharic letters/signs (fidels).
- The first step is to install the required fonts on both the WindowsMobile device and the regular computer where EpiHandy StudyManager is installed.
- They must be put in respectively \Windows\Fonts and C:\Windows\Fonts
- Often a restart of the computer and a soft reset of the device is required
- You must add a font type question on each page where you want this customization to be done, a bit cumbersome, but that is how it is implemented.
- As the question text you must enter a valid Font name. E.g. Arial or Times New Roman
- To find the correct names of a font you may use the select font feature found on the Fonts tab. Note however that the settings on this tab will override any font customization you do with the Font question type.
- To set the size of the font simply append semicolon and the size, e.g. Arial;8
- You do all of this in your English version.
- Go to the Language translation module, ensure you have added your languages under Language Settings and select the language to translate from and to.
- Now if you have installed a font called Ethiopia Jiret you enter Ethiopia Jiret;10 as the translation for the question where it says Arial;8 in your original version (english).
- Then you will immediately see that it has changed the font used for the translation.
- Next step is to ensure you have the right keyboard layout etc to be able to enter text in your language of preference.
